Abstract:

In the ancient world and in the middle ages philosophers, theologians and interpreters were sure that the number, the size and the weight were on the basis of the harmony and perfection of God’s creation. though in the system of artistic thought of the middles ages the emblem expressed in number was the most complicated and abstruse method, yet it was the most widespread one. The main reason is that the number has the opportunity to say more with little means and what was gravely important to the educated man of the middle ages the “code” of it was not a big secret. The spiritual emblem expressed in number in the system of artistic thought of the middle ages has a unique significance as a matter of an allegorical speech. The slight of it inevitably brings about the disregard of the symbolic speech, which opens a door to the simple perception of the core content of that speech.
В древние времена и в средние века философы, богословы и толкователи были убеждены, что в основе гармонии и совершенства божьего творения лежат числы. в системе средневекового творческого мышления символы, выраженные числами, относятся к чуслу самых распространенных способов, хотя для современного человека очень сложны и труднопознаваемы. Основная причина в том, что они способны малыми средствами сказать многое, и, что очень важно, для средневекового образованного человека "код" этих символов не являся большим секретом. Символы, выраженные числами, в системе средневекового религиозного мышления имеют исключительную важность как материал аллегорического слова. Игнорирование этого факта неизбежно приводит к игнорированию природы символического слова, тем самым открыв дверь к упрощенному восприятию содержания.
