Abstract:

The given article reveals the problem of advisability of logopedic terminology usage within the determination of speech development disturbances among mentally retarded children. There is described experimental part of the research of the speech of mentally retarded children of the primary school age. There are revealed basic structural components of the experimental (ascertaining) part of the research. Aim of the article is to systematize the data about the determination of the notion “systematic underdevelopment of speech”. To ground the stages of the speech examination among mentally retarded children of the primary school age.
