Abstract:

Среди армянских текстов «Откровения Мефодия Патарского» имеется весьма «апокрифичная» версия. Данный текст, как показывает филологический анализ, представляет собой отдельное произведение апокалиптического/эсхатологического характера. Наличие ссылок на события византийской истории периода 1130–1210 гг. и множество общих мотивов с византийскими апокрифами Даниила, «Пророчествами Льва мудрого» и «Историей» Хониата указывают на византийское происхождение данного текста. С другой стороны, «пролатинская» позиция автора, более характерная для армянской книжности XII–XIII вв., указывает на связь текста с армянами Византии. Исходя из этого, предлагаем новое название для данного текста: «Армяно-византийское откровение». Его вероятная датиров- ка: 1204–1213 гг.
Among the Armenian texts of the “Apocalypse of Pseudo-Methodius, there
exists a very “apocryphal” version. This text, as shown by philosophical analysis, is a separate work of an apocalyptic/eschatological nature. The existence of references to the events of the Byzantine history of the period from 1130 to 1210 and many common motives with Byzantine apocrypha of Daniel, “Oracles of Leo the Wise” and “History” of Choniates, point to the Byzantine origin of this text. On the other hand, the “pro-Latin” position of the author, more characteristic of the Armenian book writing of the XII-XIII centuries, indicates to the connection of the text to the Armenians of Byzantium. Correspondingly, we suggest a new name for this text: “Armenian-Byzantine Apocalypse”. Further textological analysis makes it plausible to date the text with a considerable precision to 1204–1213.
