Abstract:

The results of the first stage measurements of the attenuation lengths of radio waves in the Avan salt mine are presented. The goal of these measurements was to determine the availability of the Avan salt dome to utilize it for ultrahigh energy cosmic neutrino detection by means of Askaryan method application. The necessity for additional measurements is concluded.
