Abstract:

Linguistic views of Aksel Bakunts were expressed, in particular, in August 1934, in his speech at the first founding congress of the Writers’ Union of Armenia. In the discussion about the ways of development of the Armenian language, Bakunts defended Tumanyan’s approaches and emphasized the need to follow the path indicated by the poet. In matters of language development, Bakunts was the successor of the Tumanyan’s traditions. On this issue he had disagreements with both V. Teryan and E. Charents. In the issue of the development of the Armenian literary language, A. Bakunts devoted a decisive role to the popular direction, proposing to rely on the living language of the people, on its spirit and laws, using both dialect words and the words of the ancient Armenian language of grabar in the literary language.
Языковедческие взгляды Акселя Бакунца были выражены, в частности, в августе 1934 г., в его речи на первом, учредительном съезде Союза писателей Армении. В дискуссии о путях развития армянского языка Бакунц отстаивал подходы Туманяна и подчёркивал необходимость идти по пути, указанному поэтом. В вопросах развития языка Бакунц был продолжателем туманяновских традиций. По этому вопросу у него были разногласия и с В. Терьяном, и с Е. Чаренцем. В вопросе развития армянского литературного языка А. Бакунц уделял решающую роль народному направлению, предлагая опираться на живой язык народа, на его дух и законы, используя в литературном языке как диалектные слова, так и слова древнего армянского языка грабара.
