Abstract:

1724 Yerevan's defense is one of the most difficult times of our nation's history when it was necessary to rely on one's own few forces and opportunities. That fatal struggle grants us the right of calling it heroic, which was created by the people of Yerevan for the first time, facing an enemy ten times stronger than they. This episode of history has found its rightful place in the exhibition of the Yerevan History Museum. As this museum is devoted to Yerevan's history, together with its culture, the illustrations of the city's history are of great importance. Though, it is known that original exhibits in museums attract visitors more. And how to act in the case when the topic we are interested in is around 300 years old, and no original exhibits have been preserved. Museology provides an opportunity to use original objects, as well as other additional scientific materials to explore a specific theme. In modern museums, the method of illustration, in which cooperation with artist-designers is widely used, is successfully applied in exhibitions. The theme of the 1724 Yerevan heroic defense was possible to actualize, especially due to the method of illustration, cooperating with a professional group of artist-designers, led by Albert Sokhikyan. Fictional portraits were born on the tape, each of which could be one of the heroic defense leaders. These characters were enough to introduce the theme. But it was fully complete and the excursion benefited from it when the miniature of old Yerevan was made and placed directly under the tape, turning the 1724 heroic defense one of the key themes of the exhibition. Through excursions devoted to it, the visitors are presented with its historical significance, emphasizing the huge role, that it had in the formation of the citizen image of Yerevan residents.
Героическая оборона Еревана 1724 г. один из труднейших периодов в истории нашего народа – время, когда необходимо было полагаться на свои малочисленные силы и возможности. Роковое сражение, при котором ереванцы впервые противостояли в десятки раз превосходящему их по силе противнику, дает нам право называть его героическим. Этот эпизод истории нашел свое достойное место в экспозиции Музея истории города Еревана. Как известно посетителей в музеях больше привлекают подлинники, но как быть в случае, когда интересующая нас тема 300 летней давности и ни одного подлинного экспоната не сохранилось. Обычно в музеях для демонстрации определенной темы используют как подлинные, так и вспомогательные предметы. В экспозиции современных музеев успешно применяется иллюстративно- тематический метод, создающий музейную иллюстрацию отражаемых событий. Так, тема героической обороны Еревана 1724 г. воспроизведена профессиональной группой художников-оформителей во главе с архитектором Альбертом Сохикяном. На панораме изображены портреты командиров боевых отрядов возглавлявших оборону города. А после того как непосредственно под панорамой, в центре зала был установлен макет старого Еревана, стало возможным во время экскурсий наглядно представлять ход событий происходящих в городе, а также понять историческое значение обороны 1724 г. в формировании гражданской позиции ереванца.
