In this paper, we study the additivity propertyof the transition energy in a finite volume. In particular, weshow how this property can be applied to solve the well-knownproblem of finding the conditions under which a given system ofprobability distributions parameterized by boundary conditionsis a system of conditional probabilities for some finite randomfield (joint probability distribution).
