Богдан Вердян был уже известным именем в Союзе писателей Армении, когдя написал свой лучший роман: «Цветы мои остались вдали». В первые годы Арцахского движения писатель переиздал роман «Цветы мои остались вдали» с некоторыми преобразованиями. Имя Согомона Тейлеряна навсегда останется в международных источниках, осуждающих геноциды, как воплощение праведного гнева и мести. Богдан Вердян выбрал интересное заглавие для своего романа – «Цветы мои остались вдали». Цветы, которыми была так богата Западная Армения, символизируют как потерянную армянами украшенную цветами Родину, так и её невинных жертв – детей, женщин, девушек, юношей и стариков. Многие части романа «Цветы мои остались вдали» посвящены освободительным битвам полководца Андраника и его добровольческих отрядов. Мастерски описаны боевые картины столкновений турок с отрядами добровольцев Андраника. Богдан Вердян не увидел нынешного освобожденного Арцаха, обустроенных и красивых Степанакерта и Шуши. Он написал свой роман, чтобы среди армян остался жив свободолюбивый и патриотический дух двух великих армян – Андраника и Согомона Тейлеряна.
Bogdan Verdyan was already a well known name in the Union of Armenian writers when he wrote his best novel My Flowers Remained Far Away. During the first years of the Artsakh movement the writer reprinted his novel My Flowers Remained Far Away with some amelioration.36 The name of Soghomon Teylerian will stay forever in the international sources condemning genocides as the incarnation of righteous anger and vengeance. Bogdan Verdyan chose an interesting title for his novel: My Flowers Remained Far Away. Flowers which enriched the nature of Western Armenia, symbolize either the lost homeland, beautified with flowers, of Armenians or its innocent victims: children, women, young girls and boys, old people. Many parts of the novel My Flowers Remained Far Away are devoted to the liberation battles of commander Andranik and his detachments of volunteers. The fighting scenes of clashes between Turks and Andranik’s volunteer detachments are masterly described. Bogdan Verdyan had seen neither the nowadays liberated Artsakh nor the reconstructed and beautiful cities of Stepanakert and Shushi. He wrote his novel to keep awake among Armenians the freedom loving and patriotic spirit of two great Armenians: Andranik and Soghomon Teylerian.
