Abstract:

The problem of aesthetic taste, first considered by B. Gracian in 1647, remains relevant today. Particular attention was paid to it during the Enlightenment.��However, it did��t receive a final decision in connection with related to the difficulty of establishing certain norms that appear as criteria for assessing reality and art. The changes that have affected aesthetic consciousness since the middle of the 19th century and “forced” it to become more tolerant didn’t affect the awareness of the need to cultivate genuine taste, which, under the domination of false values, became more difficult than in the past, but retained its significance for the mankind.
