Католикос всех армян Геворк V имел опасения, что Константинопольское патриаршество могло стать оружием в руках турецких властей. Исходя из этого он принял решение о передаче управления зарубежными армянскими епархиями в непосредственное ведомство Первопрестольного Св. Эчмиадзина, что было предусмотрено его Кондаком от 25 декабря 1920 г. Так как Болгарская армянская епархия была тесно связана с Константинопольским патриаршеством, то этот процесс был сопряжен для нее с определенными сложностями, но, при этом, как и все зарубежные армянские епархии, Болгарская также осталась верна постулатам армяно-григорианской церкви. The Catholicos of All Armenians Gevorg V, had fears that the Constantinople patriarchate could become a weapon in the hands of the Turkish authorities. Due to this, he decided to hand the control of the foreign Armenian dioceses to the direct authority of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, which was stipulated by his Kondak issued on December 25, 1920. Since the Bulgarian -Armenian diocese was closely connected with the Patriarchate of Constantinople, this process encountered certain difficulties. However, like all foreign Armenian dioceses, the Bulgarian diocese also remained faithful to the postulates of the Armenian-Gregorian church.
