Abstract:

The Library of the History Museum of Armenia, established in the 1920s, is a unique institution that plays a key role in the preservation and promotion of Armenian cultural heritage. Since its inception, the Library has actively collected rare books, historical newspapers, and other valuable materials that contribute to the study of the history, culture, and identity of the Armenian people. Among the Library's most important collections is its archive of early printed books, which includes "Urbatagirk", published by Hakob Meghapart in 1512, the first Armenian- language printed book. Another highlight is the Armenian Press Archive, which includes publications such as the first Armenian newspaper "Azdarar" (1794) and important periodicals of the 19th century such as "Armenian Herald" and "Bazmavep". These materials provide invaluable insights into the development of Armenian printing and intellectual thought. In the modern era, the Library actively integrates digital technologies that not only enhance the preservation of its unique materials, but also make them accessible to a wider audience. Today, the Library of the History Museum of Armenia is not only a repository of unique artifacts, but also a scholarly center for the advancement of Armenological studies. It plays a key role in the preservation and transmission of cultural values to future generations, strengthening the link between the past, present and future.
Библиотека Музея Истории Армении, основанная в 1920-х годах, является уникальным учреждением, играющим ключевую роль в сохранении и популяризации армянского культурного наследия. С момента основания библиотека активно собирает редкие книги, исторические газеты и другие ценные материалы, способствующие изучению истории, культуры и самобытности армянского народа. Среди наиболее значимых собраний библиотеки – коллекция старопечатных книг. В ней выделяется «Урбатагирк», изданная Акопом Мегапартом в 1512 году, первая печатная книга на армянском языке. Также особое внимание привлекает фонд армянской прессы, в который входят такие издания, как первая армянская газета «Аздарар» (1794) и значимые периодические издания 19 века, такие как «Армянский Вестник» и «Базмавеп». Эти материалы позволяют исследовать развитие армянской печати и общественной мысли.
