Չնայած Հայոց Ցեղասպանությանը բազմիցս անդրադարձ կատարվել է, սակայն հարցի վերաբերյալ գիտական փոխհամաձայնության առկայությունը որոշելուն ուղղված փորձերը սակավաթիվ են: Ընդ որում, դրանց մեծ մասը սահմանափակ են և ոչ համոզիչ, քանզի հետազոտողները չեն հենվում բացառապես Օսմանյան կայսրության պատմության վերաբերյալ հատուկ հետաքրքրություն, գիտելիք կամ մասնագիտություն ունեցող գիտնականների կարծիքների վրա: Ուստի, հոդվածում փորձ է արվում բացահայտել այդ փոխհամաձայնության առկայությունը կամ դրա բացակայությունն օսմանագետների շրջանում անցկացված առցանց հարցման հիման վրա:
Although much has been spoken of and written about the Armenian Genocide little has been done to identify whether there is a scholarly consensus on the subject matter. Most of the previous attempts seem to be limited and non-persuasive for the researchers does not purely rely on the opinions of scholars with the specific interest in, knowledge of or a specialty in the Ottoman history. Drawing upon this lack, the article attempts to answer whether such consensus really exists based on the online survey held among the Ottoman historians.
