Статья посвящена анализу малой прозы В. Брюсова в сравнительно-сопоставительном аспекте с новеллистикой русских писателей первой трети XX века. Исследование предпринято с целью выявить особенности преломления готической традиции в новеллистике В. Брюсова, в частности, и специфику русской готической новеллы, в целом, а также указать её принципиальные отличия от зарубежной новеллистики этого же периода. В первую очередь, авторы доклада, опираясь на литературоведческую традицию, резюмируют ключевые свойства рассматриваемого явления. Затем анализируют специфику бытования готических мотивов и образов в текстах В. Брюсова, сопоставляют их воплощение с сюжетами западных современников и предшественников.
The article is devoted to the analysis of V. Brusov’s short prose in a comparative aspect with the short stories of Russian writers of the first third of the XX century. The study is undertaken to reveal the peculiarities of the refraction of the Gothic tradition in V. Brusov’s short story, in particular, and the specifics of the Russian Gothic short story, in general, as well as to point out its principal differences from foreign short stories of the same period. First of all, the authors of the report, relying on the literary tradition, summarize the key properties of the phenomenon in question. Then they analyze the specificity of Gothic motifs and images in V. Brusov’s texts, compare their embodiment with the plots of his Western contemporaries and predecessors.
