Abstract:

The author discusses 18 Armenian terms for agricultural instruments that have no certain Indoeuropean etymology. Since instruments are often named after the action they fulfill aud since parallels to the terms discussed in the article are found in Akkadian, they may be considered as trustworthy proofs of Armenian-Mesopotamian and Armenian-ancient Semitic connections.
