1877 թ. ռուս-թուրքական պատերազմի ընթացքում տեղի ունեցավ Հայկական հարցի ձևավորումը, որպես միջազգային հարաբերությունների հիմնախնդիր, որը եվրոպական պետությունները պետք է լուծեին Ռուսաստանի և Օսմանյան Թուրքիայի խաղաղության պայմանագրի հաստատման ժամանակ։ During the war between Russia and Turkey in 1877 and in the course of discussing its possible results, the formation of the Armenian Cause as a matter of self-determination emerged. The subject came up for discussion among the leading European powers, which was to be treated through international diplomatic relations and was to be settled upon concluding the peace treaty between Russia and Ottoman Turkey.
