Abstract:

In the middle of the 10th century David the Great became the Kuropalates of the Palace. The Georgian sources ascribe different origins to him. According to some sources, he ascended from the dynasty of Bagrat, being one of the four sons of the first King of the Georgian branch of the Atrnerseh of Bagratides. David’s father was an Atrneseh Kuropalates who died in 961. After his father’s death, David was awarded the title of the Kuropalates of the Palace, becoming the last Kuropalates in Tayk (Tao). В середине X в. куропалатом Тайка стал Давид Великий. В грузинских источниках ему приписывается разное происхождение. Согласно источникам, он был из рода Баграта, одного из четырех сыновей первого царя грузинской ветви Багратидов Атрнерсеха. Отцом Давида был Атрнерсех куропалат, который умер в 961 г. После смерти отца Давид получил титул куропалата, став последним куропалатом Тайка.
