Հոդվածը նվիրված է հայերի դերը Կովկասյան փոխարքա իշխան Մ.Ս. Վորոնցովի քաղաքական գործունեության մեջ: Հեղինակը ցույց է տալիս, որ ռուսական վարչակազմը հայ ժողովրդի ներկայացուցիչներին դիտում էր որպես տարածաշրջանում կայսերական քաղաքականության իրականացման հուսալի հենարանների: Հայ ձեռնարկատերերը ներկայանում էին իբրև կապող օղակ տերության վարչակազմի ու տեղաբնիկ ժողովրդների միջև:
The article is devoted to the Armenians' role in the policy of the Caucasian Deputy M.S. Vorontsov. The author shows, that the Russian authorities saw reliable assistants in the representatives of the Armenian nation in conducting of imperial policy in the region. Armenian entrep-reneurs quite often were the nexus between the authorities holding supreme power and local peoples.
