Հոդվածում քննարկվում է ԽՍՀՄ փլուզումից հետո Ռուսաստան-Թուրքիա աշխարհաքաղաքական և առևտրատնտեսական շահերի բախումը Հարավային Կովկասում՝ հիմնվելով կասպիական էներգետիկ ռեսուրսների երթուղիների վերահսկման շուրջ առաջացած ռուս- թուրքական մրցակցության վրա։ Ուժերի իրական վերադասավորումը հասկանալու համար անդրադարձ է կատարվում նաև հարավ-կովկասյան էթնոքաղաքական հակամարտությունների ազդեցությանը տարածաշրջանում ծավալված աշխարհաքաղաքական պայքարի վրա։
The article examines the clash of geopolitical and trade and economic interests of Russia and Turkey in the South Caucasus after the collapse of the USSR, based on the Russian-Turkish rivalry for control over the Caspian energy routes. To understand the real realignment of forces, reference is also made to the impact of the ethno-political conflicts in the South Caucasus on the geopolitical struggle in the region. The analysis shows that in the first decade of the post-Cold War, Turkey succeeded in the Russian-Turkish struggle over control of the Caspian energy transfer routes, which led to tensions in bilateral relations.
