В статье описывается достопримечательные места города Карс, их хрис-тианское прошлое и мусульманское настоящее. Данная работа составлена на основе заметок, сделанных в ходе паломничество автора по территории нынешней Турции. Здесь подробно представлены наиболее известные культурно - исторические образования, непосредственно связанные с армянами и в целом с армянством. Даны красочные описания “чудес” Карса: церковь Св. Апостолов - ныне мечеть, Карсская крепость, мост Вардана, отцовский дом поета Егише Чаренца и тд. Представлен и русски след Карса, а также другие подробности, представляющие интерес для паломников и туристов. Со знанием дела и по праву очевидца автор комментирует каждый шаг по маршруту своего паломничество, представляя их материальную и духовную сферы. Работа может служить отличным путеводителем для паломников, туристов, путешественников и любителей истории при посещении города Карс.
This article presents the author's pilgrimage to Kars, the local Christian past, and the nature of the Muslims. The once populous city today presents itself as a typical eastern Islamized settlement whose history is distorted substantially by the direct influence of local authorities and Turkish guides. Nevertheless, a number of Armenian historical and cultural monuments continue to act as silent witnesses, summing up the centuries-old traditions of the real owners of the city. One of them is the Church of the Holy Apostles, built during the Bagratunies, which today turned into a mosque, as well as the impregnable fortress Karuts, on the top of the citadel of which the Turkish flag flutters, the Vardan’s Stone Bridge and the recently destroyed father’s house of Yeghishe Charents. For the Armenian pilgrims, this city is as native as it is alien and repulsive.
