В конце 19-го и начале 20-го веков сверхзадачей армянского народа являлось освобождение от турецкого господства. Преодолевая множество препятствий, революционное поколение ринулось в поле борьбы для решения этой проблемы. Один из представителей этой революционной когорты, общественно-политический и партийный деятель, писатель, переводчик и педагог Мигран Таматян всю свою сознательную жизнь посвятил делу освобождения своего народа от оков турецкой тирании. Своей организационно-пропагандистской деятельностью, а при необходимости прибегнув к вооруженной борьбе, он часто обращался также к помощи пера. В этой, ускользнувшей от внимания исследователей, сфере, своими смелыми и содержательными аналитическими работами М. Таматян во многом способствовал делу борьбы за освобождение от тирании, против эксплуатации народа буржуазией и привносил свой вклад в сохранение армянского народа. Ярким свидетельством сказанному являются публицистические статьи М. Таматяна в египетской армяноязычной газете “Арев”.
At the end of the 19th century and at the beginning of the 20th century, the supreme task of the Armenian people was to be liberated from the Turkish dominance. Overcoming many obstacles, the revolutionary generation entered the battlefield to settle the issue. Representative of that heroic phalanx was Mihran Tama-tian who was a public, political and party figure, a writer, a translator and an educator who devoted his entire conscious life to the liberation of his own people from the clutches of Turkish violence. As a preacher and an organizer, and in ca se of necessity, as a weapon fighter, Mihran Tamatian often resorted to the aid of a pen as a pen-fighter. In the community of scholars who paid less attention to this issues, M. Tama-tian was the best contributor to liberation from dictatorship and the struggle against the exploitation and oppression of the rich through his bold and comprehensive analysis, and contributed to the national cause of preserving the Armenian identity. Tamatian's publicist articles published in Egyptian-Arme-nian "Arev" newspaper stand as a vivid proof of the above stated.
