Abstract:

In this study, attention is drawn to some observable manifestations of the existence of two separate regions with different temporal development during powerful flares on dMe stars and on the Sun. I propose a theoretical interpretation of the origin of the white-light continuum in powerful stellar flares with classical light curves and discuss it in the context of observations of the whitelight flares of the first type on the Sun.
