Жанр летописи, зарождение которого следует искать в средневековой истории, особые оттенки индивидуальности приобрел в 20-ом веке, как в советской армянской, так и в Западной литературе. Выдающимися творениями этого жанра являются автобиографические рассказы Г. Маари, В.Тотовенца и С.Зоряна. Многие, как и А. Мндзури, Ш. Нардуни, Ваге Айк, Арам Айказ описали непосредственную жизнь простых людей своей страны, а также дни скорби, трудности эмиграции и воспроизвели новую среду их обитания до фотографической точности. Статья - скромная попытка оценить литературные ценности летописного жанра западно-армянской литературы.
The origination of chronicle genre in the Middle Ages acquired specific shades in the 20th century in the Soviet Armenian and Western literature from the outstanding works of this genre are autobiographical stories of Mahari, V.Totovents and S.Zoryan. H. Mndzuri, Sh. Narduni, Vahe Haik, Aram Haykaz, Moushegh Ishkhan and many others provide a record of the lives of common and ordinary people of their country, as well as of a time of mourning, privations of life in emigration. The article is a modest attempt to estimate the value of the literary genre of the chronicle in the Armenian diaspora literature.
