Abstract:
One of the most difficult issues facing the government during the years of the First Republic of Armenia was the issue of Armenian emigration both inside the country and abroad. The article presents the difficult situation of the Armenian emigration in Iran in 1918-1920, the work done by the Government of the First Republic of Armenia, in particular, the diplomatic mission of the Republic of Armenia in Iran to improve it. The Armenian-Iranian friendly relations enabled the Armenian authorities to deal with the problems of the Armenian emigration to Iran. The daily food and livelihood of most of the Armenian emigrants was mainly provided with the support of the Americans and the British. Some work has been done to address the educational needs of migrant children. The authorities of the First Republic of Armenia carried out certain works to repatriate the Armenian emigrants who took refuge in Iran. The Armenian diplomatic mission in Iran had to deal with the issue of Armenian migrants transferred from Turkestan to Iran.
