В конце 1980-х — начале 1990-х гг. в жизни армянского общества имели место события общенациональной значимости — Карабахское движение. Анализ транспарантов и плакатов Карабахского движения показывает, что тема Геноцида армян, из-за Геноцида начала XX в. и новых погромов и резни конца XX в., в годы Движения продолжала оставаться важнейшим проявлением исторической памяти армян. Историческая память—один из основных элементов, характеризующих понятия "нация", "национальная идентичность". At the end of the 1980s - at the beginning of the 1990s events of all-national significance (Karabagh Movement) have been taking place in the Armenian society. The study of transparencies and posters of the Karabagh Movement reveals that the topic of Armenian Genocide remained the principal expression of Armenians' historical memory due to the Genocide of the beginning of the 20th century and the new massacres of the Armenians towards the end of the 20th century. Historical memory is one of the main features characterizing the "nation" and "national identity" phenomena.
