В статье рассматривается вопрос о составе населения края Ахдзник в конце ХІХв. начале ХХв. Как свидетельствуют первоисточники, кроме основной части населения-армян, в разные времена в Ахдзнике поселяются ассирийцы, греки, арабы, а позднее-тюркские племена и курды. После русско-турецкой войны 1877-78 гг. здесь поселяются и черкезы, чечены, лазы и аджары. На основе фактического материала есть свидетельство того, что часть курдских племен имели армянское происхождение. The administrative division of the territory at the end of the XIX century and the beginning of the XX century is examined in this article. It is shown that the Armenians in Aghdznik formed majority. Primary sources testify that Assyrians, Persians, Greeks, Arabians settled here at different times and later the Turkish tribes and Kurds also settled here. Making use of the support of the Ottoman State the Kurds established their domination. After the Russo-Turkish War in 1877-78 the Circassians, Lazes, Chechens and Adzharians migrated here and their occupation became robbery and burglary.
