Abstract:

Для раннесредневекового зодчества Армении характерно развитие не только церковных композиций, но и светской архитектуры, в частности, дворцовых комплексов, составной частью которых являлись колонные залы с четырьмя (дворец Аршакидов в верхней части цитадели Двина и дворец католикоса в центре города, рядом с соборным храмом Св. Григория) или тремя (дворцовые комплексы в центральном квартале Двина и в Аруче) парами колонн. Несколько отличается от них дворец католикоса в комплексе храма Звартноц. In the early medieval Armenian architecture there were developed not only ecclesiastical building types but secular ones as well. Such are the palatine complexes, the main consisting parts of which are the halls of columns having 3 or 4 pairs of pillars at the center. First instances of the indicated halls are met in the capital Dvin as the Crown-Hall of Arshakid kings at the palace on the top of the citadel, as well as in the Catholic palace at the down town near the Cathedral of St. Gregory. The same architectural features are notable at the palatine complexes in the central part of Dvin and Aruch. Both of them have three pairs of columns at the center. By the same properties with slight differences it could be described the Catholic palace at Zvartnots church complex.
