The POLITNOMOS is a multi-disciplinary scholarly peer reviewed and international fully open access journal that covers all areas of political science, law, political and legal philosophy. It aims to serve as a scholarly platform for research papers’ findings, discussions, and debates and introduce promising researchers and studies to the political and legal scientific communities.

The research paper explores the dual role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in modern cybersecurity from a balanced analytical perspective. It begins by examining the philosophical origins of AI, including debates surrounding machine intelligence and human cognition. It then evaluates the positive effects of AI on society, such as increased efficiency, automation, and intelligent decision support, alongside its negative implications, including privacy erosion, algorithmic bias, and rising unemployment due to automation. The core of the paper investigates how AI technologies are currently being integrated into cybersecurity frameworks for threat detection, predictive analytics, and intrusion prevention. Real-world case studies and statistical data from organizations such as the European Union Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA), IBM, and Statista are included to highlight contemporary trends. Furthermore, the paper discusses the emerging threat of AI-powered cyberattacks and the growing AI arms race among nation-states, which raises concerns regarding global security, digital sovereignty, and international relations.
