Согласно ряду исследованиий, посвященных стелам и хачкарам, установленные христианами в общественных местах и в местах захоронений стелы целенаправленно уничтожались в эпоху арабского владычества. Однако подобные утверждения являются результатом ошибочно трактуемых исторических свидетельств. From the very beginning, in the studies on steles and khachkars, a viewpoint has been taken as a basis, according to which Christian steles, erected in public places and cemeteries, were destroyed in a planned and ruthless manner in the period under the Arab rule. This viewpoint, considered unquestionable until present, is the result of preconceived and incorrect interpretations of historians’ testimonies and is subject to revision.
