2012 թ. Սոցիալիստական կուսակցության՝ իշխանության գլուխ անցնելը Թուրքիայում հնարավորություն ստեղծեց Ֆրանսիայի հետ հարաբերությունները վերականգնելու, ինչպես նաև ԵՄ-ին անդամակցելու քաղաքականությունը վերսկսելու: Ի տարբերություն Ֆրանսիայի այլ կուսակցությունների, Թուրքիայի՝ Եվրոպական Միությանն անդամակցելու հարցը Սոցիալիստական կուսակության մեջ տարակարծությունների պատճառ է դառնում, և դժվար է հասկանալ նրա հստակ դիրքորոշումը այս հարցում: Re-accession of the Socialist Party to power in France after 17 years interval raises a new wave of hope in Turkey in the context of recovering relations with France and restart of its Euro-integration path. Unlike other political parties of France, Turkey’s accession to the European Union is the issue of disagreement in Socialist Party, and it is very difficult to comprehend its clear standpoint on it. Though the Socialists in France have always been in the origin of acceptance of “pro-Armenian” bills, laws and resolutions, the recent developments around this issue are not so encouraging for the local Armenian community.
