Младотурецкая революция июля 1908 года была воспринята как завершение векового турецкого ига, деспотизма и злодеяний гамидского периода. Многострадальный и угнетенный армянский народ и впрямь поверил в провозглашенные младотурками лозунги братства,равноправия, свободы. Однако младотурки продолжили жестокую политику Абдул Гамида, преследуя пантюркистские и панисламистские цели, организовали и осуществили аданскую резню. The Young-Turks revolution of June 1908 was hailed as the termination of the century-long Turkish yoke, despotic rule and atrocities of the Hamid period. The long-suffering and suppressed Armenian people did in actual fact believe the slogans proclaimed by the Young Turks of brotherhood, equal rights and freedom. However, the young Turks continued to pursue the cruel policy of Abdul-Hamid, persuing the pan-Turkish and pan-Islamic goals, organizing and carrying out the Adan massacre.
