Abstract:

Автор обращает внимание на большое нравственное и творческое влияние Николая Толстого на его младшего брата Льва, подтверждает свои выводы ссылками на «Воспоминания» Л.Н. Толстого. Показан фрагмент жизненного пути Николая: военная служба на Кавказе, приезд к нему Л.Н. Толстого; начало их творчества, одобрение Николаем первого произведения Л.Н. Толстого − повести «Детство». Автор высказывает причины невнимания читателей и литературоведов к творчеству Н.Н. Толстого.
The article is dedicated to L. Tolstoy’s elder brother Nikolay and to his great moral and literary influence on L. Tolstoy. The author corraborates her conclusions with references on Tolstoy’s «Memoirs». N. Tolstoy’s life and military service in the Caucasus; the arrival here of his brother Leo; the beginning of their literary career; Nikolay’s approval of Leo’s novel «Childhood» are shown in the article. The author advances the opinion upon the reasons of inattention of the readers and philologists to N. Tolstoy’s literary works.
