XIX century in the history of Armenian aesthetic thought is significant in the fact that in this period we are witnesses of a fluent transition from classicism to the epoch of Enlightenment. As a result of elaborate research, we concluded, that we can conditionally name this period as the period of late classicism and Enlightenment. Giving the theoretical estimation to such aesthetic categories, as the beauty, the majestic, the comic and the tragic, the artistic image, the taste, and the ideal, some of these persons (Yurmyuzyan, Setyan, Sallanteants) combine the classicist and Enlightenment manners, and another (Nazaryan, Palasanyan, Nalbandyan, Artsruni), fully denying the heritage of classicism, lean on the objective reality in their judgments about categories of aesthetics. Despite this, we receive the legible and united image of this epoch.
