Անիի ճարտարապետությունը

В Армении в IX–XI вв. большого развития достигли градостроительство и архитектура. Столица Армении город Ани располагался на мысу, образованном слиянием двух горных рек Ахурян и Анийская, и был окружен мощными стенами с круглыми башнями. Цитадель занимала наиболее высокую часть города. Территория Ани была хорошо благоустроена, улицы имели мостовые и тротуары из каменных плит, для водоснабжения был построен гончарный водопровод. Крепость-дворец багратидских царей состояла из двух – северного и южного– больших комплексов, разделенных длинным коридором. Дворец был двухэтажный, в верхнем этаже находились парадные залы и комнаты, в нижнем – озяйственные помещения. Town-planning and architecture were highly developed in Armenia in the 9th–11th centuries. This was conditioned by the independence of the country, the revival and enhancement of the international trade, in which the capital city of Ani was involved. Ani lay on the promontory at the confluence of the mountain rivers Akhuryan and Ani. It was surrounded by solid walls with round towers. The citadel was the highest situated part of the city. The territory of Ani was well organized: the streets had stone paved sidewalks, an earthen water supply system was built. The temple-palace of the Bagratid kings consisted of two – northern and southern – big complexes, separated by a long passage. The palace was two-storied, with the ceremonial halls and rooms on the upper floor, and the utility rooms – on the ground floor.
