Abstract:

The aim of the present paper is to study the language of online petitions from pragmatic perspective, taking into consideration their communicative purpose and the functions they perform in the global social context. Our analysis is based on the assumption that online petition is an Internet-based social letter that creates new opportunities for millions of netizens from all over the world to enlighten the public, by publishing and sharing information about different spheres of social life.
