Object structure

This article is a comparative theoretical analysis that touches upon the classification of the idioms. According to the semantic point of view the Armenian and Italian idioms are divided into two groups: notion idioms and phrase idioms. In Italian the notion idioms are classified by the principal of being single-peak and poly-peak. The single-peak idioms are those composed of one notional and one or more auxiliary words, while the poly-peak ones are composed of two or more notional words. Both can be nominative and verbal. In their turn the poly-peak verbal idioms are divided into two types. The first one is liberal combinations with a logical connection between their components and meanings, while the idioms of the second type include departures from the norm.
