В статье подробно изучены опубликованные во Франции в конце XIX столетия сборники документов, освещающие историю первого периода Геноцида армян, учиненного Абдулом Гамидом II. Среди них, с научной точки зрения, особую важность имеет знаменитая “Желтая книга” (Париж, 1897), включающая донесения находившихся в различных городах Османской империи французских дипломатов, привлеченных из Архива МИД Франции. The author analyses the French published sources on the first period of the Genocide of the Armenians during the rule of Abdul Hamid II, which had been published at the end of the XIXth century. The most important among them is the famous “"Yellow book" (Paris, 1897), which includes the reports of the French diplomats, who developed their activity in the different regions of the Ottoman Empire.
