 abstract={The following scientific paper aims to show the realization of the romantic concept of progressive universal poetry by Friedrich Schlegel on the basis of the works of E.T.A. Hoffmann and Thomas Mann. To this purpose, the fairy tale “The Golden Pot” (“Der goldene Topf”) and the novella “Tonio Kröger” are subject to analysis.
