 abstract={Данная статья является продолжением статьи «Образ турка в романе Виктора Гардона «Изумрудный рыцарь»», целью которой является обобщение восприятия Гардоном образа турка, самообороны и падения Вана. В статье описываются особенности турецкой дипломатии, черты характера турок, их подлость и бесчеловечность. В противовес этому очерчены достоинства коренных армян Вана, их верность, традиции, самоотверженная борьба за сохранение своей идентичности и защиту своих сородичей. Особого внимания заслуживает отношение армян к образованию и его оценке, проявление заботы в воспитании детей даже в самой сложной и безнадежной ситуации. This article is a continuation of the article “The Turk’s Character in Victor Gardon’s novel “The Emerald Knight””, which aims to summarize Gardon’s perception of the image of the Turk, self-defense, and the fall of Van. The article describes the features of Turkish diplomacy, the character traits of the Turks, their meanness and inhumanity. In contrast, the virtues of the indigenous Armenians of Van are outlined, including their loyalty, traditions, and selfless struggle to preserve their identity and protect their relatives. Particular attention should be paid to the Armenians’ attitude toward education and its value, as well as their concern for raising children even in the most difficult and hopeless situations.},
