 abstract={Настоящее исследование, основанное на архивных материалах Армянской епархии Румынии, раскрывает историю и деятельность Армянского Красного Креста (позднее — Армянского Креста Милосердия) и его женских отделений в Бухаресте, Констанце, Силистре и позднее Пазаржике. Архивные документы показывают, что армянские благотворительные инициативы в Румынии возникли на фоне многовекового присутствия армян, заселивших эти земли с X века и внесших значительный вклад в культурную и политическую жизнь страны. В марте 1920 года в Румынии был создан Армянский Красный Крест — практически одновременно с его учреждением в Первой Республике Армения. Женский комитет, сформированный в доме госпожи Сукиасян, избрал правление, установил связь с константинопольским отделением и начал активный сбор средств, отправляя в Армению бельё, деньги и медикаменты, особенно во время голода 1921 года. Организация помогала также армянским сиротам в Константинополе и местным нуждающимся. Позднейшие документы подтверждают существование дополнительных отделений, тесное сотрудничество с армянскими комитетами Болгарии и прак- тические пути доставки финансовой и материальной помощи. Письма свидетельствуют о правильном и целевом распределении средств, что укрепило доверие к организации. Значительную роль сыграл профессор Григор Чалхушян, предотвративший её ликвидацию в 1922 году и давший новый импульс работе. К концу 1920-х годов организация постепенно стала именоваться «Ар- мянским Крестом Милосердия», сохранив при этом все направления своей гуманитарной деятельности. Архивные материалы демонстрируют масштаб проделанной работы, самоотверженность армянских женщин и высокую ответственность румынских армян перед Арменией и армянскими беженцами в послегеноцидный и раннереспубликанский период. Статья впервые системно представляет важную и малоизвестную страницу истории армянской благотворительности в Румынии. This study, based on archival materials from the Armenian Diocese of Romania, reveals the history and activities of the Armenian Red Cross (later the Armenian Cross of Mercy) and its women’s branches in Bucharest, Constanta, Silistra, and later Pazardzhik. Archival documents show that Armenian charitable initiatives in Romania arose against the backdrop of the centuries-long presence of Armenians, who settled in these lands in the 10th century and made a significant contribution to the cultural and political life of the country. The Armenian Red Cross branch in Romania was founded in March 1920— almost simultaneously with the establishment of the Armenian Red Cross in the First Republic of Armenia. The women’s committee, initiated at Mrs. Sukiasyan’s residence, elected its administrative board, corresponded with the Constantinople branch, and began actively raising funds, sending linen, money, and medicine to Armenia, especially during the famine of 1921. The organization also helped Armenian orphans in Constantinople and local people in need. Later documents confirm the existence of additional branches, close cooperation with Armenian committees in Bulgaria, and practical ways of delivering financial and material aid. Letters testify to the proper and targeted distribution of funds, which strengthened confidence in the organization. Professor Grigor Chalkhushyan played a significant role in preventing the dissolution of the branch in 1922 and giving new impetus to its work. By the end of the 1920s, the organization gradually became known as “Armenian Cross of Mercy”, while retaining all areas of its humanitarian activities. Archival materials demonstrate the scale of the work accomplished, the dedication of Armenian women, and the high level of responsibility of Romanian Armenians towards Armenia and Armenian refugees in the post-genocide and early republican period. This article is the first systematic presentation of an important and littleknown page in the history of the Armenian charity in Romania.},
