В 1943 г. январе по инициативе местоблюстителя Католикоса Всех Армян архиепископа Геворга Чорекчяна началось формирование танковой колонны «Давид Сасунский». В январе 1944 г. усилиями Святого Эчмиадзина и Диаспоры колонна вошла в строй. В марте-мае того же года вела успешные бои на 2-ом Украинском, а с июня на 1-ом Прибалтийском фронтах, участвовала в освободительных боях на территории Украины, Белоруссии и Прибалтики и внесла значительный вклад в победу в Великой Отечественной войне. During the Great Patriotic War, tank troops and tank columns played a decisive role, breaking through the echeloned defensive lines of the enemy. In January 1943, on the initiative of Archbishop Gevork Chorekchian, the formation of the tank column “David of Sassoun” began. In January 1944, the tank column was put into service by the efforts of Holy Etchmiadzin and the Diaspora. The tank column “David of Sassoun” fought successfully in the battles of the 2nd Ukrainian front in March-May months and in the battles of the 1st Baltic front since June. The tank column participated in the liberation battles in Ukraine, Belarus and the Baltic States, and made a significant contribution to the victory in the Great Patriotic War.},
