 abstract={В 2017 году в процессе проведения в последние годы в Первопрестольном Святом Эчмиадзине широкомасштабных реставрационных работ был спущен крест большого купола, в результате чего выяснилось, что на шаровидном основании креста имеется памятная надпись. Согласно надписи, он был отреставрирован при Католикосе Всех Армян Егиазаре I Айнтапци в 1690 году, поскольку было существенно повреждено от землетрясения и удара молнии, реставраторами же были мастера с одинаковым именем — Ованнес Стамболци. Документирование памятной надписи по своему содержанию призвано дополнить информацию о числе проводимых в XVII веке в Кафедральном соборе и окрестных монастырях полномасштабных строительных и восстановительных работ. Она является примечательным источником с точки зрения сообщения достоверной информации о природных катаклизмах (землетрясение, молния) и причиненном ими ущербе. По-видимому, упомянутое землетрясение — стихийное бедствие, произошедшее в Ереване до периода правления Католикоса Егиазара I 4 июня 1679 года, в результате которого, как позволяет полагать данная надпись, купол Кафедрального собора и крест были повреждены, хотя сам собор и окрестные монастыри не были разрушены. In 2017, in the process of large-scale restoration works carried out in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin in recent years, the cross of the large dome of the Cathedral was lowered, and as a result, it turned out that there is a commemorative inscription on the spherical base of the cross. According to the inscription, it was repaired in the reign of Yegiazar I of Ayntap, Catholicos of All Armenians, in 1690, since it had been significantly damaged by the earthquake and lightning strikes, and the restorers were masters with the same name — Hovhannes of Istanbul. Documenting the commemorative inscription in its content is intended to supplement information on the number of full-scale construction and restoration works carried out in the Etchmiadzin Cathedral and the surrounding monasteries in the 17th century. It is a remarkable source in terms of reporting reliable information about natural disasters (earthquakes, lightning) and the damage caused by them. The aforesaid earthquake apparently occurred in Yerevan before the reign of Catholicos Yeghiazar, on June 4, 1679, which though did not destroy the Etchmiadzin Cathedral and the surrounding monasteries, however, damaged the dome and the cross of the Cathedral, as this inscription suggests.},
