The temple of Garni, built by King Trdat the First in 77 A.D., is the only surviving monument of the architectural heritage of pagan Armenia . It was reconstructed and served for secular purposes after the adoption of Christianity. The Garni temple was destroyed in 1679 by a powerful earthquake. This temple was rebuilt in 1975 and has been enjoying its second life, becoming one of the sightseeing features of Armenia.},
